Step-by-Step Guide to Build

Let’s explore how OnBase WorkView helps tracking Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution for the company.

1. Creating an Application: Open OnBase Studio from your desktop. Navigate to the WorkView tab in the Repositories pane. Right-click within the Repositories pane and choose New > Application. Enter CRM — Customer Relationship Management as the name, click Next, select the Manager user group, and then click Finish.

2. Creating a Class: In the Repositories pane, select the CRM — Customer Relationship Management application. Right-click and choose New > Class from the menu, then select New Class. Enter Account Managers in the Display Name field. Grant Create, View, Modify, Delete, and View History access to the Manager user group, and then click Next and Finish and Save. Likewise create a class named Customers.

3. Creating Attributes — Many Attributes at Once: In the Properties pane under Attributes for the Customers Class, click the Add button and select Multiple. In the Attributes dialog, enter Customer ID in the Display Name field for the first attribute and set the datatype to Alphanumeric. For the second attribute, enter the name and press Enter. Add additional attributes: Customer Name (Alphanumeric), Industry (Alphanumeric with Data Set Values), and Account Manager (Relationship to Account Managers Class). Click OK and Save. Similarly, create attributes Employee ID, Employee Name, Email Address, and Phone Number in the Account Managers Class.

4. Creating Views: From the Repositories pane, select the Account Managers Class. Right-click and choose New > View. Then, select Create New View and enter “Account Manager Info” in the Name field. Assign rights to the Manager User Group and click Next. In the Studio Interface (far-left), find the Toolbox button. Double-click the Label control under Layout Elements in the Toolbox pane, type “Account Manager Information” in the View Editor, and press Enter. Next, double-click the Separator control under Layout Elements. Then, double-click the Employee ID Attribute under Attributes in the Toolbox pane. Double-click the Line Break control under Layout Elements and add all required attributes. Save your changes to the Repository. Similarly, create a Customer Information view.

5. Creating Records in the Unity Client: Open the Unity Client. From the toolbar, click the Application menu and select CRM — Customer Relationship Management. Click Create New on the toolbar and choose the Account Managers Class. Enter the necessary information, then click Save and Close. Similarly, create a record in the Customers class.
